She’s nice
She’s cold
She’s heaven
She’s hell
She’s strength
She’s weakness
She’s light
She’s dark
She’s ruthless
She’s ME

I have the wine
You have the time
It's a seductive night
Twinkle in the little stars
Hush the children to sleep
This night is mine
The roses are fine Will you follow me up For the moon shines so bright The skies smile at us For my thoughts are deep And will be waking up at nine The eyes give its sign Just nod to my mime Entangled in this love fight Leaving unnecessary scars For in Joy I'll sleep Cos love is sweeter than wine (C) Derrick Ofori Donkor - 23/11/16

Scanty are the days ahead
Why do we live on a measuring tape?
Ambitiously outgrown our age
Fun is chimera of our generation
Quick to do all things for nothing
How the worlds have fallen apart
Sweat of anxiety that we’ve bled
Are we not ashamed of this miserable life that we can’t escape?
Freedom only defined in the cage
Yet we pray Lord deliver us from every temptation.
Certificate inflation with no loving
Oh how we love with no heart

30 May
The pains of separation,
very devastating for the first time especially when one still loves the other.
I have had my share of it and afterward grew stronger.
Love will continue to be a sweet grain of pain.
We have to be broken sometimes to become stronger someday.

Dazed by every letter, Your voice rung in my ears like the early rising bell, Over and Over again
“Do you miss me?”
But how, how can I when you are my Addiction
The very air I breathe is you,
My very thought is you.
You are the very beat of my heart, the very sound of my voice.
…..I’m addicted to you.
You are there and I am here, Yet I am there and you are here.
In every face I see you,
In every touch i feel you,
with every kiss I kiss you,
every hand is yours.
Every guy is you.
So you ask me “Do I miss you”…..my answer “No”
….I am Addicted to U.

21 May
Holding on, never letting go
Difficult Choice but I had to let go
I thought I will grow
Then I ask myself,
Do you miss me?
Do you kiss him like you kiss me?
Do you miss me?
Every night in my dream,
On titanic memories I scream
Remembering the walk in hands with ice-creams
Then I ask myself,
Does he take you for a walk when it’s due?
Does he hold you like I do?
Do you miss me?
Lovers giggling at every corner
In my world, I am a foreigner
My heart is strong but I am a loner
Then I ask myself
Does he whispers the words like I do?
Do you smile looking at the sky when it is blue?
Do you miss me
At the first place we kissed at the country side
Tears in my eyes
The witnessed tree shades its leaves dry
Then I ask my self,
Is he strong for you?
Do you love him like you do?
Do you miss me?

When I look into your eyes, what do I see?
I see the evil upon man
Evil mind with evil plan
Look at Sudan!
Yet we say we can!
When I look into your eyes, what do I see?
I see the hate in your eyes
The sun fall and rise
Love is spelt backwards, I realize
Yet I see the wicked smiles
When I look into your eyes, what do I see?
I see the woman stripped of her pride
Once beautiful as the King’s bride
Raped of her beauty, her beauty died
Yet she said she tried
When I look into your eyes, what do I see?
I see love gone and gone forever
Wickedness is ruling and it’s not going to be better
Selfishness is all that hover
Yet we say we are clever
When I look into your eyes, what do I see?
I see religion being misused
In the name of it, people abused
It’s a time bomb that can’t be defused
Yet we will not refuse
When I look into your eyes, what do I see?
I see one liar, one politician
Out there seeking for their own satisfaction
They talk about hope but bring destruction
Yet we queue in pain for election
When I look into your eyes what do I see?
I see you, I see me
I see the tears that weren’t meant to be
I wish we will be under one tree
And together shout WE ARE FREE…
